Morris Plains, Morris County
Morris Plains is a borough of about 2.6 square miles in central Morris County, bordered by Morris Township, Hanover Township, and Parsippany-Troy Hills. Route 202, Route 10, and Route 53 run through it, and Interstates 80 and 287 are just over the line in Parsippany. The borough split from Hanover Township in 1926. It has about 6,200 residents and roughly 2,500 homes, and its 1915 brick train station is on the National Register.
Pfizer, and before it Warner-Lambert, had a major base in Morris Plains. In 2012 a developer bought 63 acres of former Pfizer land west of Route 53 with plans for about 500 homes, and Honeywell opened a headquarters campus in 2015. New homes nearby set a high bar for older houses. We buy older homes as-is, without updates.
Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital opened in Morris Plains in 1876, and its main Kirkbride building was torn down in 2015. Morris County bought about 300 acres of the grounds in 2001, and state law limits that land to recreation, conservation, historic preservation, or farmland. We buy homes throughout the borough, including near the Greystone grounds.
The borough went from about 2,200 housing units in 2010 to more than 2,500 in 2020. With newer homes on the market, buyers comparing them to an older house often ask for repairs or credits. A cash sale to us avoids those negotiations and the inspection back-and-forth.

In New Jersey, an inherited house is sold through the estate, so the executor or court-appointed administrator signs the sale. We talk with each heir separately and privately, so no one has to negotiate as a group, and we'll walk you through getting an administrator appointed if that hasn't happened yet.
