Morris Plains, Morris County
What we see in Morris Plains
Morris Plains is a borough of about 2.6 square miles in central Morris County, bordered by Morris Township, Hanover Township, and Parsippany-Troy Hills. Route 202, Route 10, and Route 53 run through it, and Interstates 80 and 287 are just over the line in Parsippany. The borough split from Hanover Township in 1926. It has about 6,200 residents and roughly 2,500 homes, and its 1915 brick train station is on the National Register.
Selling a house in Morris Plains: what's different here
Former Pfizer land
Pfizer, and before it Warner-Lambert, had a major base in Morris Plains. In 2012 a developer bought 63 acres of former Pfizer land west of Route 53 with plans for about 500 homes, and Honeywell opened a headquarters campus in 2015. New homes nearby set a high bar for older houses. We buy older homes as-is, without updates.
Greystone Park
Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital opened in Morris Plains in 1876, and its main Kirkbride building was torn down in 2015. Morris County bought about 300 acres of the grounds in 2001, and state law limits that land to recreation, conservation, historic preservation, or farmland. We buy homes throughout the borough, including near the Greystone grounds.
Growth since 2010
The borough went from about 2,200 housing units in 2010 to more than 2,500 in 2020. With newer homes on the market, buyers comparing them to an older house often ask for repairs or credits. A cash sale to us avoids those negotiations and the inspection back-and-forth.

Questions from Morris Plains sellers
Morris Plains FAQ
Can I sell my Morris Plains house without updating it first?
Yes. We buy houses in Morris Plains in their current condition and pay cash, so there are no repairs or showings.
Is the Greystone land going to be built on near my house?
The roughly 300 acres Morris County bought in 2001 are limited by state law to recreation, conservation, historic preservation, or farmland uses.
Do all the heirs have to agree before an inherited house can be sold?
In New Jersey, an inherited house is sold through the estate, so the executor or court-appointed administrator signs the sale. We talk with each heir separately and privately, so no one has to negotiate as a group, and we'll walk you through getting an administrator appointed if that hasn't happened yet.
How fast can you close on a Morris Plains house?
Thirty days is typical, and clean files can move faster. If you need more time, we'll write the date you want into the contract.
Are you a local company?
Yes. We're a New Jersey company based in Toms River, and we buy in all 21 counties, including Morris County. We are BBB accredited with an A+ rating, listed under our affiliate Gembrook Properties.
