Milford, Hunterdon County
Milford is a borough of about 1.3 square miles on the Delaware River in western Hunterdon County, bordered by Alexandria and Holland townships. The Upper Black Eddy–Milford Bridge, built in 1933, carries Bridge Street across the river to Pennsylvania. The center of town, along Bridge, Church, Spring Garden, and Maple streets, became the Milford Historic District in 2025. Milford had 1,232 residents in 2020 and 552 housing units in 2010.
The Milford Historic District was added to the National Register in April 2025, covering 139 acres with 253 contributing buildings, including Italianate houses on Spring Garden Street. If your older house in the district needs work, we buy it as-is and take on the repairs ourselves.
The paper mill built by the Riegel family in 1907 once employed about 1,250 people. After it closed, the site was cleaned up under EPA oversight and demolished, and the borough filed a redevelopment plan for 21 buildable acres of the 73-acre site. Whatever comes next there, we can make a cash offer on your house now.
An earlier Milford bridge was partly destroyed in a 1903 flood. Homes close to the Delaware can face flood-zone and insurance requirements from a buyer's lender. We buy for cash, so no flood policy or mortgage approval is needed for the sale.

Questions from Milford sellers
No. The Highlands Council places all 818 acres of Milford in the Planning Area, and the borough has petitioned for plan conformance. We buy as-is either way.
Yes. We buy houses anywhere in Milford, including near the former mill property, and price them on the house itself.
In New Jersey, an inherited house is sold through the estate, so the executor or court-appointed administrator signs the sale. We talk with each heir separately and privately, so no one has to negotiate as a group, and we'll walk you through getting an administrator appointed if that hasn't happened yet.
Thirty days is typical, and clean files can move faster. If you need more time, we'll write the date you want into the contract.
