Madison, Morris County
Madison is a borough of about 16,900 residents in southeastern Morris County, bordered by Chatham Borough, Chatham Township, Harding, Morris Township, and Florham Park. It began as the village of Bottle Hill, took the name Madison in 1834, and became a borough in 1889. Route 124 is its main street, the Madison station is on NJ Transit's Morristown Line, and Drew University sits near downtown.
The Madison Civic Commercial Historic District covers much of downtown, the borough hall, and the 1916 train station, and is on the State Register of Historic Places. The Luke Miller House on Ridgedale Avenue, from about 1730, is believed to be the oldest remaining home. Older houses often need costly system updates. We buy them as-is.
Madison's nickname comes from a 19th-century rose-growing industry that the railroad made possible. A town with that much history has many older homes whose wiring, plumbing, and foundations show their age in a buyer's inspection. We make a cash offer on the house as it stands, with no repair credits.
Drew University, founded in 1867, and Fairleigh Dickinson's Florham campus on the former Twombly estate are both in Madison. If you own a house near campus with tenants in place, we can buy it with the leases as they are, so you don't need to vacate it before selling.

In New Jersey, an inherited house is sold through the estate, so the executor or court-appointed administrator signs the sale. We talk with each heir separately and privately, so no one has to negotiate as a group, and we'll walk you through getting an administrator appointed if that hasn't happened yet.
