Green Brook, Somerset County
Green Brook Township covers about 4.4 square miles at the foot of the Watchung Mountains, bordered by Bridgewater, Warren, Watchung, and North Plainfield in Somerset County, Middlesex and Dunellen in Middlesex County, and Plainfield in Union County. U.S. Route 22 is its main road, with County Routes 527 and 529 also passing through. The township is named for the Green Brook, and Washington Rock State Park sits on the mountain above it. It had about 2,450 housing units in 2010.
The Green Brook rises in the Watchung Mountains and flows southwest to the Raritan at Bound Brook. Floods in 1971 and 1973, and Hurricane Floyd in 1999, caused heavy damage across the Green Brook basin and led to the long-running Green Brook Flood Control Project. Homes near the brook can face flood-insurance questions. We buy them as-is for cash.
Green Brook's housing count grew from about 1,900 units in 2000 to about 2,450 in 2010, so the township mixes newer construction with older houses. Owners of older homes often get long repair lists from a buyer's inspection. We buy either kind as it stands, without asking for repairs, credits, or a long list of contingencies.
Green Brook began in 1872 as North Plainfield Township, carved from Warren. It lost land to the borough of North Plainfield in 1885 and to Watchung in 1926, then took the name Green Brook in 1932. Seeley Mills and Washington Rock are local place names. We buy houses throughout the township, whatever their age or condition.

In New Jersey, an inherited house is sold through the estate, so the executor or court-appointed administrator signs the sale. We talk with each heir separately and privately, so no one has to negotiate as a group, and we'll walk you through getting an administrator appointed if that hasn't happened yet.
