Bordentown City, Burlington County
Bordentown City is a one-square-mile city where Crosswicks Creek and Blacks Creek meet the Delaware River, about six miles south of Trenton. Bordentown Township surrounds it on three sides, Hamilton Township lies across Crosswicks Creek, and Falls Township, Pennsylvania, sits across the river. First settled in 1682 and named for Joseph Borden, it became a borough in 1825 and a city in 1867. About 4,000 people live here, in roughly 2,000 homes packed close to a downtown of shops, restaurants, and old houses of worship.
Settled in 1682, Bordentown was home to Thomas Paine and to Joseph Bonaparte, whose Point Breeze estate is now the site of the municipal complex. Clara Barton opened New Jersey's first free public school here in 1852. Houses in a town this old often hide dated wiring, old plumbing, and past repairs. We buy them without asking you to bring anything up to date.
The city sits at the meeting point of the Delaware River, Crosswicks Creek, and Blacks Creek, with Blacks Creek and I-295 forming its southern edge. Lower lots near the water can raise flood-zone and insurance questions for a buyer's lender. We buy for cash, so lender flood requirements are not part of our deal.
Bordentown's River Line station on Park Street runs to Trenton and Camden, the 409 bus goes to Philadelphia, I-295 exits 56 and 57 lead into the city, and Turnpike Exit 7 is just outside town. That access draws commuters and renters. We can buy a rented house with the tenant in place.

In New Jersey, an inherited house is sold through the estate, so the executor or court-appointed administrator signs the sale. We talk with each heir separately and privately, so no one has to negotiate as a group, and we'll walk you through getting an administrator appointed if that hasn't happened yet.
Thirty days is typical, and clean files can move faster. If you need more time, we'll write the date you want into the contract.
